Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Kirby Weathers died Tuesday night, Sep. 18, 1940, at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. W. D. Parris, will be conducted at 4 o'clock Thursday, Sep. 20, 1940, at the Pacolet Station Baptist Church, by the Rev. C. A. Kirby and the Rev. B. L. Blackwell. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Survivors included: eight children, Mrs. W. D. Parris, Mrs. C. C. Hayes, Mrs. C. C. Hudgens, Hiram W. and George L Weathers, Mrs. J. E. McAbee, all of Spartanburg, SC, W. S. Weathers, of Pacolet, SC, Mrs. G. L. Sprouse, of Union, SC; 48 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
