LT COL Raymond Emerson Kendall was the oldest son of two born to Harry Wilde and Helen Josephine Emerson Kendall. He attended schools in Newport, Sullivan, New Hampshire and continued his education at West Point, graduating in 1933.

He married the former Marion G. Noyes on 20 June 1933 in Newport, Sullivan, New Hampshire. There were no children from this union.

Sadly, Raymond was killed in action in Italy during World War II, after having compiled an outstanding military career. His remains were not returned to the United States until 1948, at which time he was accorded a full military funeral on 8 December 1948.

He was a kind, decent and honorable young man who took extreme pride in serving his country.
