Services for J. H. Poorbaugh
The funeral services for James Henry Poorbaugh, who died Saturday night at his home in South Hutchinson, will be held tomorrow morning at 10:30 o'clock from the South Hutchinson Christian church.
Mr. Poorbaugh was 87 years of age. He is survived by ten children; Earl Poorbaugh, Jesse Poorbaugh, Mrs. Stella Davis, Mrs. Edith Dahlberg of this city; Miss Mabel Poorbaugh, who lived at home; Mrs. Erva Yowell, and Claude Poorbaugh, Indiahoma, Okla; Mrs. Ida Cox, Dodge City; Mrs. Maude Grace, Newark, Calif; Orville Poorbaugh, of Thayer. He also leaves two brothers, J. H. Poorbaugh (John Milton) of Lakewood, Fla., Frank Poorbaugh, (Philip Franklin) Benton, Ind., and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Karn, Goshen, Ind; twenty three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was born October 4th 1840 (year ? - 1847)in Indiana. He was married to Anna Elizabeth Drinkwater in November 1875 at Carpenter, Iowa. After two years they moved to Buffalo, Minn., then to Humbolt, Kansas. Later moving to Burrton, where he homesteaded a farm.
The family came to Hutchinson, July 13, 1910, moving to South Hutchinson in the fall, where they have since resided.
