"When she (Shirley) was born, she was the 5th (of 6) daughters. Grandma named her Shirley Mae and Grandpa went in and added Harriet (his name was Harry). I guess if he couldn't get a son he was going to name his daughter after himself. Grandma never forgave him, neither did my mom.

Mom never used the Harriet, and the only way I found out was after she died I saw a report card with the full name of Shirley Mae Harriet Oswald on it. Dad confirmed she had two middle names, but hated the Harriet and never used it."
