Florene Bernice Ginn, 81, of Altus, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, in Fort Smith, Ark. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Tom Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis, under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.

She was born on Aug. 7, 1928, in Clinton to Alfred W. and Effie I. (Mills) Shields. She graduated from Arapaho High School and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford. Florene married Ralph Harlon Ginn in Clinton on Feb. 6, 1948. He passed away on Nov. 30, 2003. She was a dental assistant for Dr. Hill in the 70s and 80s. She was a member of the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ and participated in many church functions. She enjoyed square dancing and served as the president of the state association in the 80s.

Her parents and husband preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn Ann Diamond and Bob of Webbers Falls; a son and daughter-in-law, Loran Dale Ginn and Patty of Seabeck, Wash.; six grandchildren, Noel, Brooke, Kyle, Richard, Sarah and Emma; four great-grandchildren, Will, Alex, Marcel and Kaydence; and a sister, Lorene Barclay of Vidor, Texas.
