Mary B. Reitz
CORTLAND Mary Belle Reitz, 78, 262 E. Main St., died of congestive heart failure Thursday at 6:02 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.
She was born May 13, 1919, in Punxsutawney, Pa., a daughter of Jacob and Bessie Cochran Startzell, and lived in Cortland nine years.
Mrs. Reitz worked 10 years as a dental assistant, was a member of Cortland Christian Church, Ohio Star Quilters Guild and Bazetta Senior Citizens and won many awards for quilting at numerous fairs.
She leaves her husband, Mark M. Reitz, who she married July 1, 1937; three daughters, Mrs. Lynda Krause of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Peggy Mortimer of Boise, Idaho and Mrs. Joan Pospisil of Cortland; brother Lawrence Startzell of Philadelphia, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A brother, James Startzell, is deceased.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday in Shaler Winaus Funeral Home, where friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Johnston Township Cemetery.
