Emanuel Hartley, who is now 92 years old, was born on July 3, 1875, in Millersberg, Indiana and Anna Buscher, who is 89, was born June 13, 1878 near Cicero.
On June 17, 1896, they travelled by horse and buggy to the home of "Uncle Jim" Hill where they were united in marriage.
They became the parents of five children: Earl Hartley, Kokomo; Leland, who died July 19, 1901 at the age of two years; Naomi Nightenhelser, Cicero,; Hubert, who passed away August 15, 1922; and Clifton Hartley, of Arcadia.
They have six grandchildren [should be 7]
They also have nine great grandchildren.
They formerly owned and managed Crystal Springs Park, R.R. 1, Cicero, which was a campground and fishing area and now belongs to the Church of the Brethren under the name of Camp Living Waters.
