SAN ANTONIO ~~ M.D. Cheek 70 former resident of Corpus Christi died Wedneday in San Antonio.
Services will be held at 11:30 Monday at Thousand Oaks Baptist Church with Bill Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Mr. Cheek was born in Colorado City, Texas and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1986 with over 38 years of service. He worked in Abilene, Amarillo, Odessa, Midland and Carpus Christi. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of the Army Masonic Lodge No 1105. Mr. Cheek was also a member of Thousand Oaks Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years Juanita Cheek of San Antonio three daughters, Debbie Shaw and Sandra Ramsey both of Irving and Donna Moody of San Antonio; one son Randy Cheek of Lucas one sister Ecla Mae Jones of Corpus Christi; 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family asks that memorials be made to the American Heart Association in memory of M.D. Cheek .
Visitation will be Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapel. The family will be at the funeral home to receive friends on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
