She was married Nov. 15, 1854, to David Baily who died some years later. Her second marriage was to John Miller, July 1, 1866. Mrs. Miller was mother of six children, two of whom preceded her in death. The remaining children are Ben Miller, Mrs. Kate Evans, of Casey; Edger E., of Olney, and one daughter living in the state of Oregon.
Mrs. Miller was the victim of a disease which rendered her practically helpless during the last four or five years. Through all of her suffering she remained cheerful and optimistic. She had a good word for everybody, taking special delight in the fellowship of young people. In early life while a mere girl she professed faith in Christ, united with the M. E. Church continuing in such relation until her death. Her life was consistent with her profession - loyal to Christ, faithful to church. Few persons ever held with firmer grip the esteem and good will of all.
One has only to mention the name of " Grandma Miller," as she was familiarly known, to suggest the smile, the good cheer and kindliness as well at the devoted Christlikeness, of which she was the embodiment. Much of her time was spent in reading her bible. Even after her hands were so drawn that she was unable to handle the book, she would sit for hours before the open family bible laid on the stand and read and meditate its precious promises.
"Remember thy word unto thy servant upon which thou hast caused me to hope. this is my comfort in my affliction, for thy word hath quickened me.: Psa. 119:49:50
Long and patiently has she suffered with Christ. Eternally triumph may she reign with him.
