Funeral Services for Mrs. Flossie Mae Burr were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lone Tree Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Wilbur Nolte officiating. Burial was in the Lone Tree Cemetery, with Sordens Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Burr, 71, died Saturday at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after an extended illiness.
She was born Dec. 27, 1901, near Lone Tree, the daughter of J. W. and Jennie Alma Leonard Baker. She married Lloyd Burr, Feb. 10, 1926, in Iowa City.
She was a member of the WSCS of Lone Tree, was a county
4-H chairman for many years and was a member of the Johnson county Women’s choir.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Berle (Margaret Ann) Smothers of Sumner, a son, Lloyd Burr Jr., of Lone Tree; four grandchildren; one sister, Leonarda Briggs, of Long Beach, Calif.; and two brothers, Harry, of Lone Tree and Russell, formerly of Leon.
