Marvin Nash

Marvin E. Nash, 77, of Carey, died at 7:30 am on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Birchaven Village in Findlay.
He was born Monday, March 21, 1932 in Marion, OH., son of the late Clarence and Pearl (Bradshaw-Witman) Nash and they preceded him in death. He married Marilyn L. Gibson on December 29, 1951 and she died February 6, 2005.
Surviving are his children; Mark (Jennifer) Nash of Carey, Mary Boguski of Findlay, Michael Nash of Findlay, Melissa (Greg) Stuckey of Mt. Blanchard, Mitchell (Tricia) Nash of Carey, OH., five grandchildren; Kimberly (Ray) Henley, Brian Boguski, Allison Boguski, Amber Nash, and Hayden Nash, and a step-sister, Brenda Helkey of San Antonio, TX.
He was preceded in death by infant son, Martin Nash, a brother, Robert Nash and a sister, Elizabeth Nash.
An U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, Marvin was a member of American Legion 344 and V.F.W. 3759 both in Carey. He was also a 40 year member of the Carey Masonic Lodge 420 Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio and a 39 year member of Carey Chapter 159 Royal Arch Masons.
He retired from the Sheet Metal Worker Union Local 33 in Toledo. He graduated from Carey High School in 1951.
Marvin enjoyed his retirement by spending time with his family and his many hobbies, woodworking, fishing, golfing, collecting coins, gardening, and cooking.
Family and friends will be received 3 - 8 pm, Tuesday, February 23 at the STOMBAUGH-BATTON FUNERAL HOME in Carey, where a Masonic service will be held at 7:30 pm.
The funeral service will be held at STOMBAUGH-BATTON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 11:00 am with Rev. Penny Drenten officiating.
Interment will follow in the Spring Grove Cemetery in Carey with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the local veteran organizations.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church c/o Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home.
