Oliver W. Wittfoht, 73, of 427 White Oak Drive died at 12:03 a.m. Monday, March 9, 1992, at Blake Hospital in Bradenton, Fla.

Born Jan. 8, 1919, in Bartonville to John W. and Verbelle Anderson Wittfoht, he married Betty D. Harris on July 27, 1940, in Burlington, Iowa.

She survives along with two daughters, Pat "Delores" King of Brimfield and Mrs. Richard N. (Donna) Benson of East Peoria; two sisters, Naomi Davis of Peoria and Maxine Leas of East Peoria; and four grandchildren. Two brothers, three sisters, and one grandchild preceded him in death.

A World War II Navy veteran, he worked as a machinst for 40 years and last worked at Pabst Brewing Co., retiring in 1980. He was a member of International Association of Machinists Local 360 of Peoria.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Schmidt-Haller Funeral Parlors in East Peoria. The Rev. Jamie Milam will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral parlor. Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
