Jane Carol Bittner
Jan 27, 1947 - Feb. 16, 2010.

Jane Carol Bittner of Austin died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 at the age of 63.

She was born in Taylor on Jan. 27, 1947 to Walter & Alice (Mager) Bittner. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Taylor and graduated from Hutto High School in 1965. Jane was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church in Austin and loved serving the Lord through word and song. Jane was employed as an Insurance Specialist at the Texas Department of Insurance in Austin.

Jane had a special zest for life. She loved to travel, learn new customs and embrace different cultures. She loved to laugh and always had smiles and hugs to share with the world. Jane was together with her family on every possible occasion, having recently celebrated her Dad's 97th birthday.

We will remember her as someone who loved a good game of dominoes, enjoyed watching "Dancing With the Stars", immense love for family and friends and a strong faith in God.

She left us with her special inspiration in which she lived her life - to take time to visit friends and family in order to make memories. She believed that there are three essential elements to happiness: something to do, something to love and something to hope for.

Jane is survived by her beloved parents Walter and Alice Bittner of Taylor; brother Daniel and wife, Lois Bittner of Austin; sister Waldeen Womack of Houston, sister Bonnie and husband Robert Kaderka of Taylor, sister Donna and husband Robert Rinehart of Taylor; brother David and wife Denise of Houston and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be her nephews Corby Bittner of Austin, Steven Jahnke of Round Rock, Kurt Rinehart of Round Rock, John Kaderka of Taylor, Russell Kaderka of Taylor, Matthew Bittner of Houston, Andrew Bittner of Houston, and S.C. Inman IV of Georgetown.

Celebration of Life Services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 19 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 411 CR 401 in Taylor with burial following at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made to St. James Episcopal Church, 1941 Webberville Rd., Austin, TX. 78721 or a charity of your choice. Friends and family are invited to share memories and post tributes to Jane at www.providencefuneralhome.com.

The Bittner family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for each expression of condolence, prayers, and every act of love and kindness.
