George washington was the son of Peter and Lydia Johnson Deemer. He was in CO "E" 130th Indiana in the Civil War. He married Lydia A. Gray May 12, 1867 in Indiana. They had a son Dewey T. Deemer. George later married Maggie Johnson Smithy Nov. 28, 1893 in Allegan Co., Michigan.
