Susan Moss "Mossie" Brown was the daughter of William Locke Brown and Susan A. Tucker. She married Robert Benjamin Maynard, Sr. Together they had seven children; John B. Maynard, Samuel Horace Maynard, Dennis Johnston Maynard, Sr., Annie Sue Maynard-Yaeger, Edna Virginia Maynard-Mitchell, Robert Benjamin Maynard, Jr., and Agnes Teresa Maynard-Moore-Calhoun.

MAYNARD - Mrs. Mossie Brown, age 83, died at her home at Tilton Sunday night at 7:30. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Sue Yaeger and Mrs. Agnes Calhoun, both of Tilton; Mrs. Herschel Mitchell, Dalton, Ga.; two sons, Sam Maynard, Chatsworth, Ga.; Bob Maynard, Dalton and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 from the Tilton Methodist Church with the Rev. Royce Linton officiating. Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery in Dalton. Love Funeral Home, Dalton in charge. The body will remain at the funeral home until 1 p.m. Tuesday when it will be taken to the church to lie in state until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends at the funeral home.
