Cornelius Kingsland Garrison, was the son of Daniel Randall Garrison. He lost his life one mile south of Webb City, Missouri, inspecting a lead or zinc mine, owned by the Garrison family. He was killed with his brother, C. R. "Dick" Garrison, when the hoist in which they were descending the mine shaft had a faulty brake, dropping them 140 feet to their deaths.
