Oneida, May 8.—Mrs. Frances A.
Sayles, 70, of Clockville, passed
away at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Mattie Hewitt, 334 East Walnut
street, Friday. Mrs. Sayles
came to visit her daughter a few days
ago and was stricken suddenly.
She was born in Clockville on
October 1, 1856, and always lived
in that vicinity.
Surviving, besides Mrs. Hewitt,
are her husband, Albert Sayles,
two other daughters, Mrs. Reuben
Snyder, Munnsville and Mrs. Gertrude
Kemp, Williamstown, two
sisters, Mrs. J. E. Simpson, Canastota,
and Mrs. Ella Crouch, Greene,
and one brother, Frank Van Slyke,

The 7th of 14 children born to Christopher & Calista Stilson Van Slyke.
Her first husband was James Green (nfi) and was mother of Mary (wf of White & B.Switzer), Mattie (wf of F.Gordon & T.Hewitt).
Frances married 2nd ca 1890 Charles A. Snyder, and was mother of Reuben Snyder of Higginsville, Mabelle, who died young & Gertrude (wf of A.D.Morse).
Frances married last Jul. 4, 1903, Albert Amos Sayles.
Not yet proven she's buried here, but her husband Albert Sayles is, but has no stone, perhaps she is at his side.
