Johann was the son of Killian Knorzer of Sennfeld, Germany. His mother is unknown. He married 1st Maria Dorothea Mayer on May 25, 1722 in Trechklingen, Germany. From this union were born eight known children: Georg Christoph, Maria Catherina Upp, Catherina Dorothea Miller, Maria Christina (died at the age of 11 months), Johann Balthazar, Eva Barbara Schubler, Johann Georg and Christina. Maria Dorothea died "On the Waters" when coming to America. Johann married 2nd Maria Catharina Wolf Grass after 1738 in PA. She had one son: Andreas Grass.
