Daniel Huntington, born October 20, 1775; married, April 24, 1800, Elizabeth Lord. A substantial farmer in his native town. He was appointed Deacon in the Congregational church, April 5,1821, and was often honored by his fellow citizens with testimonials of their confidence. He was living, in 1862, in Groton with his son Simon.

Children, Born in Griswold, Conn.:
1. Henry, born February 25, 1801, and died December 3, 1809.
2. Lucy, born April 15, 1803, and died April 15, 1838.
3. George, born March 30, 1805, died June 14, 1838. He was lost in the ill-fated Pulaski. He had been married, and lived in Savannah, Ga.
4. Abigail, born November 27, 1806, and died August 10, 1855.
5. Andrew, born July 29, 1808; married, first, June 3, 1835, Lydia, daughter of George Loring, of Preston, Conn., who died January 21, 1839. He married, for his second wife, September 10, 1840, Louisa Tyler, daughter of E. B. Downing, M. D., of Preston, who died April 12, 1846. He married, the third time. January 2, 1848, Mary F., daughter of Roswell Downing of Lisbon, Conn. Mr. Huntington was for many years a successful merchant in Springfield, Mass., where he was a member of the firm of Huntington, Day & Co. He died in Springfield, August 19, 1858.
6. Simon, born July 24, 1810; married, September, 1833, Sarah Reid Worthington, of Colchester. He was in the hatting business, and lived in Groton, opposite New London, where he was postmaster. He was in 1862 a conductor on the New London and Palmer railroad.
7. William, born July 9, 1812.
8. Olive, born January 19, 1817; married Rev. Wm. P. Avery, of Griswold, Conn. They had two children: William and Elizabeth.
9. Sybel, born September 22, 1818.
