Mr. Johnnie William Pennington, age 85, Hamilton, Mississippi, died Sunday, November 3, 1996, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangel in Columbus, Mississippi. Mr. Pennington was born Jul 22, 1911 in Lamar County, Alabama. He was the son of the late William M. and Molly Wooten Pennington and had lived in Hamilton since 1951. He was a farmer and a retired employee of the State Highway Department with 19 1/2 years of service. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and served as a medic in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Hamilton Presbyterian Church. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 1996 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen, MS. Bro. James Rackley officiated. Interment was in the Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon, AL. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Jones Pennington, whom he married in June of 1947; a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials are requested to go to the Hamilton Presbyterian Church.
