Pat Paden was one of seven children born to Robert Hinton & Mary (Pitts) Paden. Pat's siblings were: a baby sister who died age 3 weeks, a brother J.D. Paden, Lucille [Mack], Leonard, a baby sister who died age 22 days, a brother who died young. Her father was a cotton farmer. He rented farms in several different communities in Delta Co. At one time they lived in the Giles community, then they lived in Sharptown where there was no school and J.D., Mack & Pat went to school at Longridge. Their neighbors at Sharptown were Thad & Grace Moody & family, the Bill Dill family, Jess & Ida Avance, the John Bates family, the Charlie Whitworth family, & H.B. & Bess Woolsey. The Paden family moved to the Tillman's rent house in Cooper & worked the Tillman farms for a few years, then moved on the Tillman farm in Liberty Grove. There Pat met Morris David Alley, son of William Theodore & Odie Frances (Smith) Alley, and they were married Oct. 2, 1938. A daughter was born to them before Morris went into the infantry in WWII. After the war, two more daughters & a son were born to them. Morris & Pat were Christians of the Baptist faith and were members of Calvary Baptist Church of Cooper, TX.
