Leonard Van Nostrand
Leonard G. Van Nostrand, 93, of 816 Taylor Ave., died Friday in Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, N. J., after a long illness. His wife, the former Mary Gearhart, died in 1967. Born in Lansingburgh, N. Y., a son of the late William S. and Mabel Green Van Nostrand, he was a partner in the firm of Heidenrich and Van Nostrand, merchant engineers, prior to his retirement. Mr. Van Nostrand was graduated from Cornell University with honors in 1905 and as a served Captain in World War I. He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, the Scranton Club, and the Knights of Malta. Surviving are a son, William S. II, Morristown; a brother Dr. Donald Scott Van Nostrand, Forest Hills, N. Y.; six grandchildren and a niece. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a. m. from the Howard J. Snowdon Funeral Home, 1810 Sanderson Ave. The Rev. James Moodey, St. Luke's Episcopal Church, will officiate. Interment, Forest Hills Cemetery, Viewing, Sunday, 7 to 9 p. m.
