Page 75: December 12, 1963: Mrs. C. Whitmore, Aged 85, Dies; Rites Saturday: Mrs. Luie Ellen Whitmore, aged 85 of Rt. 7, Middleton, died at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday following a heart attack. A daughter of the late Samuel F. and Nancy Funkhouser Hadley, she was born in New Springfield on Sept. 29, 1878.She had resided in this area all of her life and was a member of the EUB church of this city and the WCTU. Her husband, Curtis Whitmore, died in 1955. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Rambo of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Lyman Newcomer of this city and one son, Olin Whitmore of RD, New Waterford. There are five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 at the Fry Funeral home in Columbiana where services are to be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Guy Smith, pastor of the EBU church will conduct the services and the burial will take place in Columbiana cemetery.
