Ardmore, OK — .Services for Marilyn "Mimi" Chronister Bynum will be Monday, February 22, 2010, 2 p.m. at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Leonard Ezell officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.


Marilyn was born March 4, 1934, at Mountain Park, Oklahoma, in Kiowa County to A.H. and Ruby Inez Stevens Curtis. She passed from this life on February 18, 2010, in Eufaula, Oklahoma, at the age of 75.


She and Max Warren Chronister were married on September 9, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 6, 1993. She later married Marvin Bynum October 27, 1994, and they lived in Tishomingo until her health declined.


Marilyn worked in the cafeteria at Ardmore High School for numerous years. She was adored by the students and kids. Later she worked at Stromberg Carlson until she retired. After that she began keeping children in her home. She kept many kids in Ardmore and did this for 15 years.

She loved her whole family and looked forward to going to the family reunions every year. Her hobbies included quilting, and crocheting. She loved horses, country music, and country dancing, and was a member of the Northwest Baptist Church.


She is survived by her husband Marvin Ross Bynum of Tishomingo; daughter Diana Gay Chaney and her husband Bill of Eufaula, Okla.; sons Max Allen Chronister and wife Anna of Ardmore, Jerrold Wayne Chronister and wife Darla of Ardmore, Bobi Jo Ford of Ardmore; step-sons: Don Bynum of Texas, Jerry Mack Bynum of Tishomingo; sister Rosalyn Brooks of Elmore City; brother M.E. Curtis of Howe, Texas; six grandchildren Eric Brannon Chronister and wife Sarah of Tulsa, Okla., Senior Airman Lacey Nicole Treat and husband
Joe of Enid, Okla., Lindsey Dare Chronister of Ardmore, Jeremaih Webb and wife Alesha of Ardmore, William Austin Chaney of Eufaula, Okla., Zandor Cayne Ford of Ardmore; three great-grandchilren.


She was preceded in death by her parents A. H. and Ruby Curtis; husband Max Warren Chronister; brothers Glen Curtis, Bill Curtis, Lloyd Curtis, Hubert Curtis, and Claydean Curtis.


Pallbearers will be Tony Simon, Joe Treat, Brit Robertson, Bob Chaney, Reggie Brown, Larry Milson.


The family will greet friends from 4-5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
