George Warriner Pepper was born to John Prouty Pepper and Jenette Strickland at Steward, Lee County, Kansas on 11 Apr 1872. He was one of nine chiildren.

He married Delia Bridget Jackson on 22 August 1896 in Belleville, Republic County, Kansas. They had six children, four boys and two girls.

He was a farmer. He loved baseball and helped sponsor a local team in his neighborhood.

George had high blood pressure and died of "cerebral apoplexy" on 29 Apr 1930 in Beaver Township, Lincoln County, Kansas.
