Floyd L. Andrews, age 89, passed away Sept. 9, 2001, after a battle with cancer.

Floyd was born in Nephi, Utah, Feb. 23, 1912, to James and Eliza Andrews. He married Lois Monson on May 3, 1938, in Nephi. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. Lois preceded him in death on June 18, 1989.

Floyd retired from Kaieser Steel Corporation. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Local 9958, a charter member of the Grassy Trail Riding Club, active in the Wildlife Federation, and active in the Carbon County Democratic Party. As a young man, he was a jockey, a farmer, a cattleman and a beekeeper. Floyd loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting.

He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ, serving in many positions. Including serving in the Pittsburgh Mission.
Floyd is survived by Paul M. (Phyllis) Andrews of Vernal, Ann (Hersh deceased) Ashley, Murray; Bruce F. (Karen) Andrews of Sunnyside; Dale Y. (Linda) Andrews of East Carbon; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers, three sisters, and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, at 11 a.m. in the East Carbon LDS Chapel. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Price, and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial, Nephi Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Primary Children's Hospital.
