On Tuesday night at eight o'clock occurred the death of Frank Thomas, at his home on West Walnut street, at the advanced age of seventy two years.
Mr. Thomas was a veteran of the civil war, being a member of Co, I, Thirty-third Indiana Infantry, in which he served for three years and one month. After his return from service, he engaged in carpentering and farming until a few years ago, when he retired from active business.
He was born at Sharpsville, Tipton county, April 4, 1836, and would have reached his seventy-third year had he lived until Saturday. When a young man he moved to Decatur county, where he has been known as a broad man and a good citizen,and his death comes as a matter of general regret.
He is survived by the widow and four children: Frank and Lucas and Mrs. Charles Bussell live in this city, and Ollie lives in Cincinnati.
He was a member of the Red Men, of this city, and a former member of Pap Thomas Post.
The funeral services will be held at the home this afternoon at two o'clock.
