Helena W. Downs, 101, 323 Northwest St., Bellevue, died Wednesday in The Bellevue Hospital.
She was born in Tiffin, Ohio. She worked at The Bellevue Hospital for 16 years, retiring in 1968. She was the oldest member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Bellevue, and served with the local Episcopal Church Women. She was also a member of The Bellevue Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by tow daughters, Deanna Stephens of Bellevue and Marilyn Stephens of DelRay Beach, Fla.; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Downs, in 1971, whom she married in 1922; her parents, Thomas and Nellie (Burke) Weaver; and one great-granddaughter.
Friends may call from 5 - 7 p.m. Monday at Harris Funeral Home, 289 W. Main St., Bellevue. Friends may also call from 9 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Bellevue.
Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to The Bellevue Hospital.
