Robert E. Bemont, 65, of Olney died in his home Monday, July 24, 1989 at 10:43 p.m.

Burial will be at Maple Dale Cemetery with full military graveside rites performed by the Olney Veterans Organizations.

Mr. Bemont was born in Richland County, Feb. 28, 1924 the son of Dennis and Alda Myrtle (Lomas) Bemont.

He married Kay Abraham in Calcutta, India on May 4, 1946 and she survives.

He worked at Kroger for 27 years, then became Supervisor of the City of Olney Lakes, Parks, and Cemeteries.

He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Olney VFW and American Legion.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Ronald J. and wife Linda of Washington and Gary L. and wife Tani of Mt. Carmel; two brothers, Neal and Joe of Olney; and two sisters, Betty McDowell and Virginia Ellison, both of Olney.

His parents preceded him in death.
