Miss Katherine Cromwell
A sudden and unusually sad death occured last Thursday, July 8th, when Miss Katherine Cromwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Cromwell, of Washington, D. C., passed away at the family's summer home at "Cuba," this county. Death was caused by perintonitis and came so unexpectedly that the young sufferer's spirit had fled before her father, who was summoned from Washington, could reach her bedside. Miss Cromwell was the granddaughter of the late Joseph H. Dobson, well known to older residents as owner of the "Cuba" plantation. She was but 15 years old and had just graduated from a Washington high school. The funeral was held last Friday, being conducted by Rev. C. W. Hudson and Rev. H. L. Corr, and the body was laid to rest in the family burying ground at "Cuba."
