Bio thanks to findagrave contributor Ken Smith: John Loomys or Loomis, son of John and Kyrsten, was born in Thaxted, Essex, England and baptised there on January 29, 1562. He married Agnes Lingwood, daughter of John Lingwoode, on June 30, 1589 in Essex County, England. They had six children and lived in
Braintree, Essex, where John was a tailor. John was a tradesman and real-estate holder in comfortable circumstances, and a citizen of esteem in the church and community. John
wrote his will on April 14, 1619 and died soon after. In the will, he calls himself a tailor, mentions his only son, Joseph and his four married daughters, along with his wife
Agnes. He was buried in the churchyard of St. Michael’s Church in Braintree on May 29,1619.
