Funeral services for Jim Harvey Edwards, a retired farmer of West, were held Friday, January 18 at 11:00 a.m at Unity Baptist Church with burial in Unity Church Cemetery with Southern Funeral Home of Durant in charge of arrangements. Officiating ministers were Rev. Gene Richardson and Rev. Benton Goodman.
Mr. Edwards died Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko. He was 88.
Survivors include his wife Maxine of West; four daughters, Jane Reed of Kosciusko, Sue Pritchard of Durant, Shelia Taylor of Ethel, and Judy McPeters of Midland, Texas; one sister, Mable Simmons of Ridgeland; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The active pallbearers were Bill Cade, Ronnie Adams, Ted Melton, Dewayne Cade, Jimmy Bruce, and Johnny Edwards.
Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren.
