Pfc. Kyle J. Coutu, 20, of Providence, R.I., died Feb. 18 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

COUTU, PFC KYLE JOSEPH USMC, 20, was killed February 18, 2010 during combat operations in Afghanistan. A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was the beloved son of Melissa A. Coutu. Kyle was a 2009 graduate of William E. Tolman High School. Besides his mother he leaves his grandparents, Ronald and Janice (Driscoll) Coutu of NH and formerly of Pawtucket; aunts and uncles, Cheryl and John Durkin of Narragansett, Jennifer and Marty Durkin of South Kingstown and Greg and Mary Coutu of Cumberland; cousins, Cory and Maeve Durkin, Arianna, Lauren and Riley Coutu; his great-grandmother, Claire (Lallier) Coutu of Pawtucket; his fiance, Jacqueline DaSilva and several great-aunts and great-uncles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. VISITATION will be held Thursday 3 to 8 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, Kyle's family suggests to adopt a soldier at www.soldiersangels.com or donations to the Wounded Warrior Regiment, C/O Charitable Donation Coordinator, 3025 John Quick Road, MCB Quantico, VA 22134, (checks should be made payable to: Dept. of Navy Gift Fund) check memo: Wounded Warrior Battalion-East.
