Funeral services for Lena Barstad, 96, were conducted Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.

The Rev. Norman Olsen and Rev Duane Salness officiated. Erling Tofeland, Torlief Thompson, Arne Hoiland, Trygve Vegge, Lawernce Thorson and Ernest Tofeland were pallbearers.

Holm Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sam Barstad died May 16 at the Mary Jane Brown Home.

She was born Sept. 26, 1881, at Krinesdahl, Norway, and came to the United States in 1903.

She was baptizes and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Norway and was a member if Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Mrs. Barstad is survived by one son, Ole Hommen, Luverne, and two daughters, Josie (Mrs. William) Kuehl, Luverne, and Gurina (Mrs. Harold) Meyer, Luverne, 21 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1968, three sons and two daughters.
