Barbara Margarete Frei was born in Warsaw, Poland, July 22, 1868, and went to her rest at Rest Haven, Sidney, BC Sunday, October 24, 1948. In 1889 she was united in marriage to John Adam Stickle.
This home was blessed with several children and the parents being very anxious that the children should have a Christian education moved to the Coast in 1904 where a church school was being established. this was the first church school in BC. In 1910 the family moved to Armstrong and the deceased became one the charter members of the Grandview church which was organized the same year.
Her husband died died in 1926. She was the mother of twelve children - one died in infancy, and two predeceased her. Those remaining, mourn the loss of a loving mother. She is survived by 18 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted in the Grandview church by Elders P. AS. Rick and the writer. Interment was made at the family plot in the Grandview S. D. A. cemetery. N. R. Johnson

MRS BARBARA STICKLE BURIED WEDNESDAY
Mrs Barbara Stickle pssed away at Rest Haven on Vancouver Island on Sunday. The funeral service was held yesterday (Wednesday) at the Grandview Seventh Day Adventist Church. Present at the funeral were three of her four sons, John of the Flats, Sam in Vernon and Bert from the prairie; also three of her five daughters, Mrs Owens and Mrs Davies are missionaries in Africa.
