Nancy Harriet King (Red)Henderson was the 1st wife of Thomas Stalworth Henderson. She was the mother of two daughters and three sons. The sons were Judge John N. Henderson, a member of the Texas court of criminal appeals, who had lost his left arm serving the Confederacy; son, Thomas S. Henderson,Jr., lawyer and Texas legislator, served as chairman of the board of regents of the University of Texas; and Hon. Sam R. Henderson, Bryan lawyer, represented Brazos County in the Texas State Legislature.
Nancy died one month after her youngest child was born.
