Delayed Birth Certificate stated error in DOB. Her mother, Mary Jane Tillis Adams died abt. 1897 - 1900.
At age 13 Lorena married farmer and sawmill worker
Jesse Whitman Odom 17 Feb 1908 in Shelby County TX.
She was a gardener, clothing designer, seamstress and milliner, and boarding house owner while rearing four children.

She later moved to Galveston TX where she learned to upholster furniture. When she moved to Longview she worked as an automobile carseat coverer and part owner of an upholstery, slipcover, and drapery shop.

She later married Jubal E. "John" Beavers, who had surveyed in the Indian Territory before it was Oklahoma and became County Surveyor of Gregg County TX.

OBIT in Longview Morning Journal Sunday 7 Jun 1970:
"Mrs. Lorena M Beavers, 77, ___ Magnolia Street, Longview died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at a local hospital.
Funeral services are schedulted at 2 p.m. Monday at Rader Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev J R Wiggin of Kilgore and the Rev Ray Tenpenny of Longview officiating.
Burial will be at Alpine Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. M E. Holland of Liberty City and Mrs. Huel ____ of Longview; two brothers Joe Adams of Center, Tex. and Noah Adams of Montgomery-LA; eight grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren"
