Etta Mae Sewell, 102, of St. James, Mo., passed away at the Golden Living Center-St. James on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, in St. James, Missouri. She was 102 years, 6 months and 8 days of age.

Etta Mae was born on Feb. 14, 1905, at Jakes Prairie-Crawford County, Mo., to her parents George Washington and Cora Ann Risz Sellers. She was united in marriage to Azro Martin Sewell on Aug. 18, 1925 at the courthouse in Rolla. To this union five children were born.

Etta Mae is survived by one son, Delmar Sewell and wife Nora of O'Fallon, Mo; three daughters, Beulah Bechdolt of St. Louis, Mo.; Edna Biermann of St. Louis, Mo.; Opel Mock of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister: Melba Wisdom of St. James, Mo.; eight grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. She was greatly loved and will be missed by those who knew her and loved her.

Etta Mae is preceded in death by her parents: George Washington and Cora Ann Risz Sellers; one son: Alvin Eugene Sewell on Dec. 24, 2006; seven brothers: Louis Edwin; Thomas Vernon; James Elbert; David Levi; Charles Martin; George Ray and Harry Cornilas Sellers; and two sisters: Eliza Frances Hughes and Lucy Isbella Hammock.

Visitation for Etta Mae will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Mo.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at the First Assembly of God Church in St. James, Mo., with the Rev. Mick Thrasher officiating.

Burial will be in the family plot in the St. James Cemetery in St. James, Mo.

Memorials are suggested to the First Assembly Church of God in St. James, Mo.
