Army Spc Pagan was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado as an infantryman. He was killed while on foot patrol when a suicide bomber rode a motorcycle up to the patrol and detonated an explosive device. Bobby was a graduate of Anderson High School where he is remembered as a fun loving jokester with a perpetual smile on his face. After graduation, he worked for an auto dealership but decided to join the Army in July 2008. His awards include the National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign, Medal w/Campaign Star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, and Combat Infantry Badge. He was scheduled to return home in several weeks for his mid-tour leave. Diana Soriano, a soldier in the same unit and his fiancée, was coming with him to meet his family. Bobby was devoted to his family of eight brothers and sister and worked hard to help his single mom. When he came home, the funeral party traveled to the cemetery for his military burial. Bobby's custom made casket embodied some of the things he loved in life. Its lid was painted burnt orange and emblazoned with the emblems of the Texas Longhorns and the United States Army.
