Weldon passed peacefully on November 24, 2006 at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield, Texas. He was born on December 25, 1917 in San Antonio, Texas. His parents were Katie and Clarence Dodgen.

Weldon was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was employed by the Texas Insurance Advisory Association, now Insurance Council of Texas, for 43 years.

He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Weldon Harris Dodgen and four brothers, James, Clarence, John and Jack.

Weldon is survived by his loving wife, Esther; son, John Dodgen and wife Paulette; daughter, Jennie Ringstaff and husband James; granddaughter, Staci Dodgen; grandsons, Jeff Dodgen and wife Amber, James Ringstaff and wife Ashley; great-grandsons, Jacob Dodgen, Johnathan Dodgen, and Jason Ringstaff; sisters, Katherine Perry, Francis Balagia and Bobbie Wier.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 26th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2006 at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Dr., with Pastor Darin Felty officiating.
