Charles Langworthy 1894-1964

Charles J. Langworthy, 69, of Bagley died at the Veterans Hospital in Fargo, June 1 where he had been a patient for three weeks.
Born October 5, 894 at Matterville, Minnesota of parents William and Nettie Langworthy, he came to Clearwater County in 1932 and farmed in Shevlin and Holst Townships. After his retirement in 1960, he moved to Bagley where he had lived since. He was married to Sarah Bromley, September 18, 1917 at Matterville and her death occurred in 1959. His marriage to Anna Baumann took place at Bagley in May 1962 and she preceded him in death, April 3, 1964. Mr. Langworthy was a veteran of World War I and was a very active Legion member for 45 years.
Surviving are two sons, Henry of South St. Paul and Orlie of Bagley; two daughters, Mrs. Norman Knutson (Nettie) of Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Donald Appel (Neva) of St. Hilaire; 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild.
Also among the survivors are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. James Evans (Ruby) Rosemount; Mrs. Maude Herschley, Dodge Center; Mrs. Frank Schleck (Dollie), St. Paul Mrs. Charles Damon (Stella), Minneapolis; Mrs. Lucy Braun, Tucson, Arizona; Mrs. Seward Grens (Velma) Dodge Center; Grant of Racine, Wisconsin; Jame of Portland, Oregon; and Mrs. Lewis Schleck (Ellen) of St. Paul.
Preceding Mr. Langworthy in death were six brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at the Congregational Church in Bagley, Friday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Philip Van Wynen will officiate and burial will be in the Bagley City Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home. Reviewal will be from 1 to 2 at the church. Military rites by the Irvin Blix Post No. 16 of Bagley.
