OBERLIN - Everett V. Hastings passed away at his home on Oberlin road at 8 a.m. today following a six-month illness.
Born in Penfield May 1, 1892, he came to Oberlin to make his home in 1932. He was employed in skelp mill number one at the National Tube in Lorain for 25 years and until his recent illness.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Waite Hastings, a sister Mrs. Frances Barnard of East Cleveland; a nephew, Paul Hastings of LaGrange and a niece, Jean Gould.
The body is at the Cowling-Sedgeman Funeral Home where friends may call and where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Mrs. Mary Candy of the East Oberlin Community church will officiate.
Burial will be made in Brookdale cemetery, Elyria.
