CLEMENTS Allen G. Clements, of Pearl River, LA, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Louisiana Heart Hospital in Lacombe, LA. Beloved husband of Gloria Lowrie Clements for the past 59 .5 years. Loving father of Karen Clements Roberts, John W. Clements and wife Julie and Thomas A. Clements and wife Shari. Son of the late William W. Clements and Alice Sharp Clements. Brother of Juanita Chanove and late husband Tommy, Sr. and Rossie McGehee and husband Jim. Also survived by 4 grandchildren; Taylor, Patricia, Mollie and Laura Clements. Age 86 years; a native of Houltonville, LA and a resident of Pearl River, LA for the past 41 years. He served his country in the US Army during WWII under Gen. George S. Patton and was involved in the Normandy invasion. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. As a graduate of Southeastern University, Mr. Clements was a History teacher at University Military School in Mobile, AL and History and English Teacher at the 6th Ward School (Pearl River, LA) and 5th Ward School (Bush, LA). He retired as a rural Postal Carrier for the US Postal Service. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Slidell, LA since 1947. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Christ Episcopal Church, 1534 7th Street, Slidell, LA 70458, on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and on Friday morning at church from 9:00am until 10:00am. Funeral services will follow at 10:00am. Interment will be in Holmes Cemetery in Talisheek, LA. Donations to The Wounded Warriors Association at www.woundedwarriorproject.org is preferred, in lieu of flowers. Arrangements by Honaker Funeral Home, Inc., Slidell, LA.
