Mrs. Henry R. Mathias
Mrs. Clara A. Mathias, widow of Henry R. Mathias, died Saturday, February 9, 1946, at her residence along the Manchester road, near Westminster. She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Rebecca Angel Lippy and was aged 80 years. Surviving are the following children: Horatio J., Baltimore; Mrs. George L. Reese, Mrs. John H. Martin, and Mrs. John L. Schweigart, near Westminster; Mrs. George C. Brown, Mrs. Walter F. Bell and Harry J. Mathias, Westminster; also 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The body was removed to the home of her son, Harry J., 156 Pennsylvania avenue, Westminster.
Services were conducted Tuesday, meeting at the son's home at 1:30 p.m., with further rites at 2 p.m. in St. John's (Leister's) Lutheran church. The pastor, the Rev. Willis R. Brenneman, officiated. Interment in the church cemetery. F. A. Sharrer & Son, funeral directors.
