MAGNA---Mar 11----Funderal services for Joseph L. Childress, 69, long time Salt Lake county resident who died Tuesday in a Salt Lake hospital, will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. at 36 E 7th South by Joseph F Lloyd, former bishop of Emerson Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Friends may call at the place of funeral prior to services. Burial will be in Sandy Cemetery.

Mr. Childress was born Dec 6, 1878 in Knoxville, Tenn., and came to Salt Lake county with his parents when 12 years old. He served in the Army in the Philippines in 1906. For the past 30 years he had been employed by the Hercules Power Co., at Bacchus, Salt Lake county.

He married Beatrice Shoell Oct. 13, 1945 in Magna.
