Madelon "Minnie" Riva, 95, of Spring Valley died at 1:15 a.m. Dec. 27, 2008, in St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley. A funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Spring Valley. The Rev. Michael Monclova will officiate. Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
She was born Nov. 10, 1913, in Spring Valley to Joseph and Mary (Baima) Pecchio. She married Joseph Riva on July 12, 1941.
Mrs. Riva retired from Spring Valley Garment Factory and was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Sodality of the church.
Survivors include one son, John (Jane) Riva of Peru; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Amelia Wroblesky of Spring Valley.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 6, 1977; and two brothers.
Memorials may be directed to LaSalle-Peru Township High School Education Foundation.
