TUSCALOOSA J C Peeks, age 85, of Tuscaloosa, died Feb. 14, 2010, at Heritage Health Care. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Bro. Doug Tilley, Bro. Roy Gene Plymon, and Bro. Jimmy Garner officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Pickens County with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William T. and Elizabeth Peeks; his stepmother, Minnie Lou Peeks; his sisters, Mae Wright and Clarice Robinson; his brothers, Levi Peeks, Albert Peeks, and De Roy Peeks; his daughter, Linda G. Peeks; and his grandson, Specialist Michael P. Bridges.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie L. Peeks; his daughters, Brenda Burt of Northport and Janice Bridges of Las Cruces, N.M.; his grandchildren, Janet Lindsey (Hal), Christopher Bosch (Brandi), Jason Bridges, and Zach Bridges; and his great-grandchildren, Chasity Lindsey and Blake Lindsey.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Hoggle, Jerry Perrigin, Gordon Acker, Jason Bridges, Zach Bridges, and Fred Cowart.
Honorary pallbearers are Heritage Health Care, Dr. Stephen Browne, Southern Care, friends and neighbors of Winters Drive, special brother-in-law Coy Perrigin, and DCH OPC Lab.
