Tradition says he is buried here.
"Isham served in Co G, 54th Va Inf. He participated in the battle of Saltville." (Nestor, Descendants of Abraham Goad, p.17-1) Isom applied for a Civil War pension on 25 Aug 1902 stating he had served in Co. G 45th VA. He stated he was disabled by "infirmity of age & disease" and that he had broken his leg in the war. His widow, Amy, also applied for a widow's pension stating Isom had died of paralysis and dropsy.
