Why the Picture of the headstone has Oct. 12, 1845, I have no idea. Does not seem right, If this Amos Newton Lanier was born in 1845 his father would have been abt. 15 years old at the time and his mother would have been abt. 11 years old.

Amos Newton Lanier was reported to have been born Oct. 12, 1856 in Duplin Co., NC and died Dec. 12, 1930.

Amos Newton Lanier, son of Zebulon Thomas and Susan M. (Batts) Lanier, and grandson of Zebulin and Melinda (?) Lanier.

Amos Newton Lanier, married Emily Eliza Jones, daughter of Kilby and Mary Ann (Brown) Jones, Sep. 13, 1877.
