Patricia Lynn Beck Ballard McEwan passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2010. She resided at 10275 North 3900 West in Cedar Hills, Utah at the time of her death.
She was born August 10, 1934 in Lehi, Utah. Lynn moved with her family often when she was young while her father attended and taught at Universities in California, Idaho, Pennsylvania, and Utah.
She attended BYU, where she met Paul Darrel Ballard; they were married and had three boys. After the death of her husband, she moved back to Provo to be closer to family. She met Kenneth Eugene McEwan Jr. and together they joined two families into one. They lived together at 1024 East 400 North in Orem for over twenty years raising their family. While Kenneth was sick, Lynn worked at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo.
After Kenneth's death, Lynn moved to Highland. She lived there for many years near her parents.
Lynn served a mission to Richmond, Virginia in 1999. She also served as a temple worker for many years at both Jordan River and Mount Timpanogos. Lynn had a great love for handwork, quilting, crocheting, and sewing. She also really enjoyed reading and learning of history and biographies. Lynn loved traveling with her siblings.
Lynn was preceded in death by her father Jay Vern Beck and mother Alida Faye Ellison Beck, her husbands Paul Darrel Ballard and Kenneth Eugene McEwan Jr., her brother David Beck and her son Donald Eugene McEwan. She is survived by her siblings Dorthene Richardson, Jackie (Ed) Foutz, Necka Endicott, Bonnie (Stephen) Studdert, and John (Roger) Beck. She is survived by her children Linda (Stephen) Randall, Ann (Nathan) Adams, Pat (Roger) Rasmussen, Debbie McEwan, Jeff (Anne) Ballard, Paul (Debbie) Ballard, Darrel (Kiyomi) Ballard, Kevin (Jeanne) McEwan, Shaun (Carla) McEwan, Daniel (Kerri) McEwan, and Megan (William)Macalupu. She is survived by fifty-five grandchildren, fifty-two great-grandchildren, and many dear friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday January 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cedar Hills Stake Center, 3950 West Cedar Hills Drive, Cedar Hills. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Olpin Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, and at the Church on Friday from 12:30-1:45 p.m.
Interment will be in the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, Provo.
